Following general procedure L and using [2-fluoro-4-(2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-chroman-6-ylethynyl) phenyl] acetic acid ethyl ester (Compound 31, 0.2 1 g, 0.58 mmol), 5 mL of methanol and 1M sodium hydroxide solution (2 mL) followed by flash column chromatography over silica gel (230-400 mesh) using 50% ethyl acetate in hexane, the title compound was obtained as a solid (0.184 g, 93%).
