As described for example 4, (5-methyl-3-phenyl-isoxazol-4-yl)-methanol (200 mg, 1.06 mmol) was converted using 2-hydroxy-5-nitro-pyridine instead of 2-hydroxy-5-trifluoromethylpyridine to the title compound (SiO2, heptane:ethyl acetate:dichloromethane=80:0:20 to 50:30:20, 122 mg, 37%) which was obtained as a white solid. MS: m/e=312.2 [M+H]+.
