Sunitinib hydrochloride (1.0 g) and H2O (60 mL) was added into a flask in r.t. and heated to 90° C., the mixture turned clear, pH of the mixture was adjusted to 8˜9 with 1N NaOH and cooled r.t. stirred over night, filtered, washed, dried in vacuo to give 0.67 g of crude sunitinib with 99.0% purity by HPLC analysis in 78.3% yield.
