The resulting 2-n-butyl-3-(4-hydroxybenzoyl)-5-nitro-benzofuran (XI) on reaction with dibutylamino-propylchloride furnishes 2-n-butyl-3-[4-(3-dibutylamino-propoxy)benzoyl]-5-nitro-benzofuran (XII)
