Procedure
Following general procedure B1, 4-chloro-2-(cyclopentylthio)-6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[b]pyridine (0.130 g, 0.51 mmol) was reacted with ethyl 2-(4-aminophenyl)acetate (0.137 g, 0.77 mmol) to afford crude product (0.220 g) as a colorless gum. MW=396.55. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz) δ 7.27 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 7.12 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 6.74 (s, 1H), 5.62 (s, 1H), 4.17 (q, J=7.0 Hz, 2H), 3.93-3.79 (m, 1H), 3.60 (s, 2H), 3.52-3.46 (m, 2H), 2.97 (t, J=7.5 Hz, 2H), 2.74 (t, J=7.5 Hz, 2H), 2.22-2.02 (m, 4H), 1.83-1.51 (m, 6H), 1.27 (t, J=7.0 Hz, 3H); APCI MS m/z 397 [M+H]+.
