Ethyl 4-(2-{(3,5-bis-trifluoromethyl-benzyl)-[2-(5-methoxy-2-methylsulfanyl-pyrimidin-4-yl)-5-trifluoromethyl-benzyl]-amino}-pyrimidin-5-yloxy)-butyrate (162 mg) is dissolved in chloroform (5 ml) and thereto is added m-chloroperbenzoic acid (70%) (63 mg) and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes. To the reaction solution are added saturated aqueous sodium thiosulfate solution and chloroform, and the mixture is separated, and the organic layer is washed with a saturated brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue is purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate=1:0→19:1) to give ethyl 4-(2-{(3,5-bis-trifluoromethyl-benzyl)-[2-(2-methanesulfinyl-5-methoxy-pyrimidin-4-yl)-5-trifluoromethyl-benzyl]-amino}-pyrimidin-5-yloxy)-butyrate (143 mg). MS (m/z): 780 [M+H]+
