| Brandgefahren | Excerpt from ERG Guide 115 [Gases - Flammable (Including Refrigerated Liquids)]:Special Hazards of Combustion Products: None (USCG, 1999)· EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. |
| Brandpotenzial | Very dangerous fire and explosion hazard when exposed to heat or flame.Flammable in the presence of an oxidizing gas (eg air), a source of ignition, and when the concentration of the gas is between the lower and upper explosive limits. Keep away from heat/sparks/open flame/hotsurface/oxidizing gas. No smoking. |
| Gesundheitsgefahren | If concentration of gas is high enough, may cause asphyxiation. No detectable systemic effects, even at 5% concentration in air. (USCG, 1999)High concentrations may cause asphyxiation. No systemic effects, even at 5% concentration in air. (USCG, 1999) |
Anwendungen & Verwendung
Verwenden
Tween 85 is an emulsifier produced by reacting oleic acid with sorbitol to yield a product which is reacted with ethylene oxide. It is a nonionic, water-dispersible surface-active agent that is very soluble in water. It is also termed polysorbate 80. It is used in ice cream and frozen desserts for overrun and dryness; as a disperser of flavors and colors in pickles; and for volume and texture in baked goods. It is frequently used with monoand diglycerides at usage levels ranging from 0.05 to 0.10%.
