BeschreibungLentinan i s a n immunostimulant β-1,6; β-1,3-D-glucan isolated from the edible mushroom, Lentinus edodes. It is currently approved, in combination with the cytostatic tegafur, for the treatment of gastric cancer.
OccurrenceLentinan is found in the shiitake mushroom, which is found in Japan and China.
VerwendenLentinan is used as an immune regulator and to treat bacterial and viral infections and cancer.
