5-Dehydroxy (3S)-Atorvastatin is an impurity of Atorvastatin (A791750), which is a drug used for lowering both elevated LDL-cholesterol and triglyceinhibitorrides in patients with hypercholesterolemia. Atorvastatin is a selective, competitive HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor.
