GHS-EinstufungThis chemical does not meet GHS hazard criteria for 2% (2 of 100) of reports.WarningH373 (95%): May causes damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure [Warning Specific target organ toxicity, repeated exposure]H411 (95%): Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects [Hazardous to the aquatic environment, long-term hazard]P260, P273, P319, P391, and P501 (click each P-code to see the statement)Aggregated GHS information provided per 100 reports by companies from 10 notifications to the ECHA C&L Inventory. Each notification may be associated with multiple companies.Reported as not meeting GHS hazard criteria per 2 of 100 reports by companies. There are 9 notifications provided by 98 of 100 reports by companies with hazard statement code(s).Information may vary between notifications depending on impurities, additives, and other factors. The percentage value in parenthesis indicates the notified classification ratio from companies that provide hazard codes. Only hazard codes with percentage values above 10% are shown. EntsorgungsverfahrenSRP: At the time of review, criteria for land treatment or burial (sanitary landfill) disposal practices are subject to significant revision. Prior to implementing land disposal of waste residue (including waste sludge), consult with environmental regulatory agencies for guidance on acceptable disposal practices.
WechselwirkungenAntihypertensive effects of doxazosin may be reduced when the medication is used concurrently with these agentsindomethacin, and possibly other /nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/ NSAIDs, may antagonize the antihypertensive effect by inhibiting renal prostaglandin synthesis and/or by causing sodium and fluid retention

Anwendungen & Verwendung

Verwenden

A selective a-1-adrenergicblocker related to prazosin

the patient should be carefully monitored to confirm that the desired effect is being obtained. /Salt not specified/
Concurrent use may slightly increase the serum concentration of doxazosin
however, the clinical significance of this increase is not known. /Salt not specified/
Antihypertensive effects may be potentiated when these medications /other hypertension-producing medications/ are used concurrently with doxazosin
although some antihypertensive and/or diuretic combinations are frequently used to therapeutic advantage, dosage adjustments are necessary during concurrent use. /Salt not specified/
Antihypertensive effects of doxazosin may be reduced when it is used concurrently with these agents /sympathomimetics/

Non-Human Toxicity Excerpts/LABORATORY ANIMALS: Chronic Exposure or Carcinogenicity/ In one 24 month chronic dietary administration study in rats, doxazosin (given at a dose equivalent to 150 times the maximum recommended human dose) produced no evidence of carcinogenicity. In another similarly conducted study done in mice, up to 18 months of dietary administration produced no evidence of carcinogenicity. The latter study, however, did not use a maximally tolerated dose of doxazosin. /Salt not specified//LABORATORY ANIMALS: Developmental or Reproductive Toxicity/ Studies in rats given oral doses of 20 mg/kg of body weight per day ... have shown that doxazosin reduces fertility in male rats. The effect was reversible after about 2 weeks of discontinuation of treatment. /Salt not specified//LABORATORY ANIMALS: Developmental or Reproductive Toxicity/ Studies in rabbits and rats given daily oral doses of 40 and 20 mg/kg, respectively, have shown no evidence of harm to the fetus. The rabbit study, however, did not use a maximally tolerated dose of doxazosin. Reduced fetal survival was associated with a dosage regimen of 82 mg/kg in rabbits. Following oral administration of labeled doxazosin to pregnant rats, radioactivity was found to cross the placenta. /Salt not specified//LABORATORY ANIMALS: Developmental or Reproductive Toxicity/ Studies in perinatal and postnatal rats given 40 or 50 mg/kg per day of doxazosin revealed evidence of delayed postnatal development manifested by slower body weight gain and slightly later appearance of anatomical features and reflexes. /Salt not specified/
Antidote and Emergency TreatmentTreatment of overdose: Treatment of circulatory failure by placing the patient the supine position and elevating the legs is most importantif shock is present, additional measures are necessary. Volume expanders may be used to treat shock, followed, if necessary, by administration of a vasopressor. Symptomatic, supportive treatment and monitoring of fluid and electrolyte status.
