The resulting mixture was warmed to rt and stirred for 1.5 h. The reaction was concentrated and triturated with ether. The solid that formed was filtered and dried to afford 617 mg of 4-(3-phenyl-2,2-bis(carboethoxy) propyl)piperidine.TFA.
