Reaktionsschritte

N-sulfamyl-acrylamidine was prepared by a four-step procedure from 3-(methylthio)-propionitrile, with an extremely low (5.5%) yield in several days. The products of the subsequent steps, including famotidine, were isolated by column chromatography.
