Using 2-aminophenol and 5-(3-nitrophenyl)furan-2-carbaldehyde, 3.51 g of 2-{[5-(3-nitrophenyl)furan-2-yl]methyleneamino}phenol were obtained as a yellow powder (yield 95%).
