Versuchsvorschrift

6.38 g of 1,2-epoxypropane was added to a solution of 22.5 g of N-methyl-3,3-diphenylpropylamine in 60 ml of methanol. The solution was maintained at 15°-20° C. for 3 days, and then an additional 1.16 g of 1,2-epoxypropane was added. This solution was maintained for 24 hours at room temperature. The methanol was evaporated off and the product purified by chromatography on a silica gel column (methanol gradient in chloroform), to give 24 g of the title compound as colorless oil.
