Versuchsvorschrift

The mixture of 4.6 g of 2-(2-tosyloxyethyl)-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran, 2.64 g of 4-hydroxy-4-phenylpiperidine, 10 g of anhydrous sodium carbonate and 100 ml of 4-methyl-2-pentanone is relfuxed for 48 hours. It is filtered, evaporated and the residue recrystallized from isopropanol-petroleum ether, to yield the 2-[2-(4-hydroxy-4-phenylpiperidino)-ethyl]-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran melting at 107°.
