Versuchsvorschrift
5 g. N-[4-(1-Cyano-1-methylethyl)-phenyl]-4-methoxybenzamide (Example 27) are stirred for 20 hours at ambient temperature in 100 ml. concentrated sulphuric acid, poured on to ice, the precipitate is filtered off with suction, dissolved in hot glacial acetic acid, water added thereto until the commencement of turbidity and then left to cool. There are obtained 2.2 g. (42% of theory) of the title compound in the form of colourless crystals; m.p. 234°-235° C.
