After the reaction, the mixture was left to stand overnight at room temperature, the precipitate was filtered off, the filtrate was concentrated under vacuum to remove the tertiary butanol, and the residue was extracted with ether. The aqueous layer was recovered, concentrated under vacuum, and the residue was treated with acetone to give a crystal of guanosine-3'-monophosphoramidate in a yield of about 50%. The crystal was heated under vacuum at 100° C. for a period of 3 to 4 hours until it was dehydrated thoroughly.
