General Manufacturing InformationButane, 1-fluoro-: ACTIVE

Applications

UsesFluorinated butyl is mainly used in chemical reagents, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, and material intermediates.

Preparation methods · 1 item

PreparationSynthesis of methanesulfonyl fluoride: In a 500 ml glass reactor equipped with a stirrer and a condenser for cooling, 68 parts of potassium fluoride and 172 parts of water were added, and the mixture was stirred until the potassium fluoride dissolved. A refrigerant at 0°C was circulated in the condenser. 115 parts of methanesulfonyl fluoride were added to the glass reactor, and after the addition was complete, the mixture was stirred at 50°C for 7 hours. The reactor was then cooled to room temperature, and 100 g of water was added to the reaction mixture to dissolve the precipitated salt (potassium chloride). The contents of the reactor were transferred to a separatory funnel, allowed to stand, and the lower organic layer was separated. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate was added to the obtained organic layer to dry it. After filtration to separate the magnesium sulfate, the filtrate was distilled under reduced pressure (10 kPa, 55–56°C) to obtain 77 parts of the target methanesulfonyl fluoride (79% yield).
