MeSH Pharmacological Classification
Agents that are used to suppress appetite.
Drugs that bind to but do not activate GABA RECEPTORS, thereby blocking the actions of endogenous GAMMA-AMINOBUTYRIC ACID and GABA RECEPTOR AGONISTS.
Applications
DescriptionFG 7142 (ZK 39106; LSU-65) is a nonselective benzodiazepine inverse agonist with high affinity (Ki= 91 nM) for the α1 subunit-containing GABAA receptor. FG 7142 also modulates GABA-induced chloride flux (EC50=137 nM) at GABAA receptors expressing the α1 subunit. FG 7142 increases tyrosine hydroxylation and leads to upregulation of β-adrenergic receptors in mouse cerebral cortex.
UsesFG 7142 is a benzodiazepine inverse agonist anxiogenic compound.
