Chemistry & industry
Applications
DescriptionFenothiocarb is a thiocarbamate acaricide used to control eggs and young stages of various spider mites. It has a moderate aqueous solubility but is soluble in various organic solvents. It tends not to be persistent in soil or water systems. Based on its physical-chemical properties fenothiocarb is not expected to leach to groundwater. Ecotoxicity data is sparse but suggests moderate levels. Toxicity via the oral route is moderate to humans and no information on chronic risks have been found.
UsesFenothiocarb is an acaricide used to control the eggs and young stages of Panonychus citri, Panonychus ulmi and other Panonychus spp.
