Chemicals that emit light after excitation by light. The wave length of the emitted light is usually longer than that of the incident light. Fluorochromes are substances that cause fluorescence in other substances, i.e., dyes used to mark or label other compounds with fluorescent tags.
Uses5-(Dimethylamino)-1-naphthalenesulfonamide (DNSA) was used as starting reagent in the synthesis of 2,6-disubstituted pyridines, 6-substituted 2,2′-bipyridines and 6,6′-disubstituted 2,2′-bipyridines. It was also used as fluorescent probe in the determination of concentration of human carbonic anhydrase II-DNSA in solutions.
