DescriptionPeptide T is an HIV entry inhibitor derived from the envelope glycoprotein gp120 of human immunodeficiency virus. It is potentially useful as antiviral agent in AIDS therapy. The core pentapeptide sequence, TTNYT, consisting of amino acids 4-8 in peptide T, is the HIV envelope sequence required for attachment to the CD4 receptor.

UsesPeptide T is an octapeptide from the V2 region of HIV-1 gp120. Peptide T is a ligand for the CD4 receptor and prevents binding of HIV to the CD4 receptor.
