Procedure

The title compound was prepared from 3-(3-hydroxy-phenyl)-2-methoxy-propionic acid methyl ester (example 9, step 4) via the same procedure used to prepare (2S)-3-(4-tert-butoxycarbonylmethoxy-phenyl)-2-methoxy-propionic acid ethyl ester (PREPARATION 3, step 1) to produce a yellow oil. MS (ES) for C17H24O6 [M+H]+: 325.
