Procedure

To a solution of crude tributyl(2-thienyl)stannane (1.1 g) and tert-butyl{[5-bromo-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl]methyl}methylcarbamate (430 mg) in toluene was added tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (116 mg), and the mixture was stirred under a nitrogen atmosphere at 120° C. for 1 hr. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by basic silica gel column chromatography (eluent: hexane-ethyl acetate=4:1) to give the title compound as a pale-yellow oil (yield 315 mg, 73%).
