Reaction Steps

Prepared according to Procedure A using 2-amino-6-chlorobenzoic acid (2.0 g, 11.7 mmol) and SOCl2 (2.1 mL, 29.1 mmol) in benzene (60 mL), followed by 2-fluoroaniline (2.3 mL, 23.4 mmol) and CHCl3 (60 mL). The product was chromatographed in CH2Cl2 to provide 1.05 g of a yellow solid (34%). 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ: 8.45 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 1H); 8.01 (br s, 1H); 7.02-7.22 (m, 4H); 6.78 (dd, J=0.5, 7.9 Hz, 1H); 6.64 (dd, J=0.8, 8.2 Hz, 1H); 4.73 (br s, 2H). MS (ES): m/z 265.0 (M+).
