Procedure

4.45 Grams of 2-propyl-5-thiazolecarboxylic acid (obtained in Example II) are dissolved in 120 cc of acetone and 2.62 gm of diisopropylamine are added. The solvent is evaporated off under low pressure and the crystals thus obtained are recrystallized from isopropyl ether. The diisopropylammonium 2-propyl-5-thiazolecarboxylate is obtained in the form of colorless crystals, soluble in water and in alcohol, melting at 120° C. (Yield: 90%).
