Procedure

12 g. (0.09 moles) of α-methylphenethylamine is reduced by treatment with 4 g. of lithium in 0.5 l. of ammonia according to procedure of Example 1(a) to yield 1-(2-aminopropyl)-1,4- cyclohexadiene.
