石油エーテル

解説原油中のガソリン沸点範囲(30～200 ℃程度)に相当する留分．通常は，軽質ナフサと重質ナフサに分けて，それぞれ次の工程に送る．なお，このような分離を行わないものをフルレンジナフサ，またはホールレンジナフサという．

用途石油エーテルは，石油系天然ガスに含まれる液状分の回収やナフサの蒸留精製で得られる．おもにペンタンおよびヘキサンからなり，実験室用溶剤に用いられる．広義には，ベンジン中の最低沸点製品に該当する．森北出版「化学辞典（第2版）

一般的な説明Petroleum ether is a low boiling point fraction having boiling point in the range of 40-60°C. Extracts of leaves of Litchi chinensis Gaertn. (Sapindaceae) have been prepared in petroleum ether and were evaluated for antiinflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities.
