使用Potassium trimethylsilanolate can be used as a reagent in the: Hydrolysis of nitriles to primary amides. Conversion of esters to carboxylic acids, and dialkyl phosphonates to their monoalkyl phosphonates. Synthesis of E-alkenes, and nitrocefin. It can also be used as a coupling promoter in cross-coupling reaction of aliphatic alkynylsilanols with aryl iodides.
109 kg of hexamethyldichlorosilane was put into a stirring kettle, and nitrogen was introduced at a flow rate of 1 L/min for 0.5 h while stirring. 56 kg of potassium hydroxide was added while stirring. After returning water at 100° C. for 10 h, the material was discharged into a centrifugal spray drying oven and centrifuged and spray-dried at 3000 rpm and 100° C. for 5 h to obtain white crystalline potassium trimethylsilanol with a purity of 99.99%.
