Neopentyl glycol diglycidyl ether: Does not have an individual approval but may be used under an appropriate group standard
Fire Hazards · 2 件
It is combustible. (NTP, 1992)
Combustible. Above 88 °C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Hazards SummaryMay form explosive peroxides; A skin and eye irritant; May cause skin sensitization; [ICSC] A moderate skin and mild eye irritant; May cause skin sensitization; [Brenntag MSDS] See GLYCIDYL ETHERS.
NEOPENTYL GLYCOL DIGLYCIDYL ETHER is a ether-epoxide derivative. The ether being relatively unreactive. Flammable and/or toxic gases are generated by the combination of alcohols with alkali metals, nitrides, and strong reducing agents. They react with oxoacids and carboxylic acids to form esters plus water. Oxidizing agents convert alcohols to aldehydes or ketones.
Chemical DangersThe substance can presumably form explosive peroxides. Reacts with strong oxidants.
Air and Water ReactionsSlightly soluble in water.

First Aid Measures · 4 件
Fresh air, rest.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention .
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention.

EYES: First check the victim for contact lenses and remove if present. Flush victim's eyes with water or normal saline solution for 20 to 30 minutes while simultaneously calling a hospital or poison control center. Do not put any ointments, oils, or medication in the victim's eyes without specific instructions from a physician. IMMEDIATELY transport the victim after flushing eyes to a hospital even if no symptoms (such as redness or irritation) develop.
Safe StorageSeparated from strong oxidants. Keep in the dark.
Nonfire Spill Response · 1 件
SMALL SPILLS AND LEAKAGE: If you should spill this chemical, use absorbent paper to pick up all liquid spill material. Your contaminated clothing and absorbent paper should be sealed in a vapor-tight plastic bag for eventual disposal. Solvent wash all contaminated surfaces with acetone followed by washing with a strong soap and water solution. Do not reenter the contaminated area until the Safety Officer (or other responsible person) has verified that the area has been properly cleaned.
Spillage DisposalCollect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Wash away remainder with plenty of water.
Eye PreventionWear face shield.
Fire PreventionNO open flames. Above 88 °C use a closed system and ventilation.
Inhalation RiskNo indication can be given about the rate at which a harmful concentration of this substance in the air is reached on evaporation at 20 °C.
