Agents used for the treatment or prevention of cardiac arrhythmias. They may affect the polarization-repolarization phase of the action potential, its excitability or refractoriness, or impulse conduction or membrane responsiveness within cardiac fibers. Anti-arrhythmia agents are often classed into four main groups according to their mechanism of action: sodium channel blockade, beta-adrenergic blockade, repolarization prolongation, or calcium channel blockade.

Drugs that stimulate contraction of the myometrium. They are used to induce LABOR, OBSTETRIC at term, to prevent or control postpartum or postabortion hemorrhage, and to assess fetal status in high risk pregnancies. They may also be used alone or with other drugs to induce abortions (ABORTIFACIENTS). 解説スパルテイン．マメ科エニシダCytisus scoparius，ウチワマメLupinus luteus，Ammodendron conollyiなどに含まれる．多くのルピンアルカロイドの母核の一つ．(－)-スパルテインは液体．沸点118 ℃(2.4 kPa)．[α]D－17.0°(エタノール)．pKa1 4.80，pKa2 11.96．nD19"1.5289．天然には，右旋性と左旋性の両方のスパルテインが存在する．スパルテインには，ほかに2種類の立体異性体が存在可能であり，それぞれα-およびβ-イソスパルテインとよばれる．多くの四環性ルピンアルカロイドは，その還元方法に応じて，上記3種類のスパルテイン異性体のうちいずれか(あるいはその対称体)を生成する．強心剤として用いられる．

使用Sparteine occurs in yellow and black lupinbeans (Lupinus luteus L. and L. niger). Italso occurs in other Lupinus species aswell as in Cytisus and Spartium species.Therapeutically, it is used as an oxytocicagent.
