応用分野
解説パラバン酸，パラバンサン，oxarylurea．C3H2N2O3(114.06)．オキサリル尿素ともいう．尿酸を硝酸または臭素で酸化するか，尿素をシュウ酸と三塩化リンで処理することによって得られる．無色の針状または柱状晶(水から再結晶)．分解点243 ℃(100 ℃ で一部昇華)．pKa 6.10．水に可溶，クロロホルム，エーテルに難溶．シュウ酸の環式ウレイドにあたるもので，アルカリ溶液と煮沸すると加水分解してオキサル酸になる．アンモニア溶液はニンヒドリンで青色を呈する．
使用Parabanic acid appears to be an important marker of free radical reactions in vivo and may be used to monitor free radical activity and to evaluate pharmacological therapy with radical scavengers.
