解説C30H61OH(438.8)．ミリシルアルコールは，，メリシルアルコールともいう．パルミチン酸エステルやセロチン酸エステルとして，みつろう，カルナウバろう，蔗(しょ)ろうなどのなかに存在する．無色，無臭の絹糸光沢のある針状結晶．融点86.5℃。なお，蜜蠟中に含まれる炭素数31の直鎖飽和アルコールCH3(CH2)30OHはメリシルアルコールmelissyl alcohol(1‐ヘントリアコンタノール)といい，融点は85.9℃。エーテル，エタノールなどに可溶．植物の生長調整物質として用いられる．森北出版「化学辞典（第2版）
