来歴Chrysomycin A was first isolated from the Streptomyces A-419 strain in 1955 as a mixture of chloramphenicol A and B, and is considered one of the most promising candidates for the treatment of infections caused by multidrug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria. Strain 891, isolated from sediments in the South China Sea, has been found to yield the highest concentration of Chrysomycin A (3,600 mg/L) of all known strains under optimal conditions.
