| 規制情報 | Chemical: 1,2-Hydrazinedicarboxamide |
| 火災危険 | The flash point of this compound is not available, however it is probably non-flammable. (NTP, 1992) |
| 有害性の概要 | May cause irritation[MSDSonline] |
| 反応性グループ | Amides and Imides |
| Reactivity Profile | BIUREA is chemically classified as an amide. Amides/imides react with azo and diazo compounds to generate toxic gases. Flammable gases are formed by the reaction of organic amides/imides with strong reducing agents. Amides are very weak bases (weaker than water). Imides are less basic yet and in fact react with strong bases to form salts. That is, they can react as acids. Mixing amides with dehydrating agents such as P2O5 or SOCl2 generates the corresponding nitrile. The combustion of these compounds generates mixed oxides of nitrogen (NOx). |
| Air and Water Reactions | Insoluble in water. |
| Hazard Classes and Categories | Skin Irrit. 2 (11.9%) |
| 消火 | Fires associated with this compound should be controlled with a dry chemical, carbon dioxide or Halon extinguisher. (NTP, 1992) |
| 応急処置 | EYES: First check the victim for contact lenses and remove if present. Flush victim's eyes with water or normal saline solution for 20 to 30 minutes while simultaneously calling a hospital or poison control center. Do not put any ointments, oils, or medication in the victim's eyes without specific instructions from a physician. IMMEDIATELY transport the victim after flushing eyes to a hospital even if no symptoms (such as redness or irritation) develop. |
| 非火災時の漏出対応 | SMALL SPILLS AND LEAKAGE: If you spill this chemical, FIRST REMOVE ALL SOURCES OF IGNITION, then dampen the solid spill material with toluene, then transfer the dampened material to a suitable container. Use absorbent paper dampened with toluene to pick up any remaining material. Your contaminated clothing and absorbent paper should be sealed in a vapor-tight plastic bag for eventual disposal. Solvent-wash all contaminated surfaces with toluene followed by washing with a soap and water solution. Do not reenter the contaminated area until the Safety Officer (or other responsible person) has verified that the area has been properly cleaned. |
| 処分方法 | SRP: The most favorable course of action is to use an alternative chemical product with less inherent propensity for occupational exposure or environmental contamination. Recycle any unused portion of the material for its approved use or return it to the manufacturer or supplier. Ultimate disposal of the chemical must consider: the material's impact on air qualitypotential migration in soil or watereffects on animal, aquatic, and plant lifeand conformance with environmental and public health regulations. |
| Preventive Measures | Inhalation of salt dusts should be avoided. /Hydrazine & derivatives/Engineering controls, such as process enclosure or local exhaust ventilation, shall be used when needed to keep concentrations of airborne hydrazines within acceptable levels. Ventilation systems shall be designed to prevent accumulation or recirculation of airborne hydrazines in the workplace environment and to remove hydrazines from the breathing zone of workers. /Hydrazines/ |
| Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) | RECOMMENDED RESPIRATOR: Where the neat test chemical is weighed and diluted, wear a NIOSH-approved half face respirator equipped with an organic vapor/acid gas cartridge (specific for organic vapors, HCl, acid gas and SO2) with a dust/mist filter. (NTP, 1992)... Vinyl coated hand protection, natural or reclaimed rubber protection, rubber aprons, and plastic eye and face protection ... used when working with small quantities. Where possibility of gross splashing exists, full protective clothing made of rubber, neoprene or vinyl-coated materials should be worn. For respiratory protection in situations where recommended tolerance limits are ... exceeded, respiratory protective equipment ... must be used. /Hydrazine and derivatives/ |

純化方法
Crystallise the diamide from water, wash the crystals with EtOH then Et2O and dry in vacuum over P2O5. It does not decompose on drying at 110o /48hours. Its solubility in H2O is 1% at 0o. [Andrieth & Mohr Inorg Synth IV 26 1953, Beilstein 3 H 116, 3 I 56, 3 III 229.]
