The product from Step C (0.20 g, 0.54 mmol) was combined with acetic acid (5 mL), water (5 mL), and iron powder (0.30 g mmol) and stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The reaction mixture was filtered and evaporated to a dark oil (0.47 g) which was was used in the next reaction: LC/MS m/z 341.
