A solution of Example 221B (1.5 g, 3.4 mmol) in dichloromethane and trifluoroacetic acid (10 mL) was stirred for 2 hours at ambient temperature, treated with toluene (200 mL), and concentrated to provide 1.7 g (100%) of the desired product as the trifluoroacetate salt. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 400 MHz) δ 8.42 (s, 1H), 7.95 (s, 1H), 7.76 (d, 1H), 7.54 (dd, 2H), 7.46 (dt, 2H), 7.21 (t, 1H), 7.16 (dd, 4H), 6.61 (d, 1H); 13C NMR (DMSO-d6, 100 MHz) δ 167.0, 159.0, 158.6, 157.6, 156.0, 148.8, 137.7, 137.5, 131.0, 130.1, 128.2, 127.6, 124.0, 120.3, 119.4, 119.2, 118.7, 115.7.
