The title compound was prepared by following the procedure described for Step-2 of Intermediate-3 using methyl 2-[(2-chloro-6-methylphenyl)amino]-7,7-dimethyl-7,8-dihydro-1H-furo[3,2-e]benzimidazole-5-carboxylate (0.500 g, 1.29 mmol), methanol (1.0 mL) and (50%) aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (0.500 g, 12.50 mmol) to afford 0.400 g of the desired product. 1HNMR (DMSO-d6): δ 1.40 (s, 6H), 2.21 (s, 3H), 2.94 (s, 2H), 7.18-7.34 (m, 4H), 11.0-12.00 (s, 3H), 12-13.00 (s, 1H); MS [M+H]+: 372.34.
