Purification was by reverse phase HPLC using a gradient of 1-99% ACN in Water (HCl modifier). The fractions containing the product were evaporated to dryness. The residue was then taken up in ethyl acetate and water and the pH of the solution was adjusted to −8 with a saturated solution of NaHCO3 in water (˜3 drops). The layers separated and the aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate (3×). All organic were combined, evaporated and purification by silica gel column chromatography using a gradient of ethyl acetate in hexanes (5 to 70%) gave 3-(4-fluoro-2-methoxy-phenoxy)-N-(3-sulfamoylphenyl)quinoxaline-2-carboxamide (2) (26.10 mg, 37%) as a white solid.
