実験手順

A mixture of 2,3-dihydro-5-[1-(hydroxyimino)ethyl]-1H-indole-1-carboxylic acid, methyl ester, Preparation 19 (6 g, 25.6 mmol), and Raney nickel (1 mL) in methanol/ammonia/water (75 mL:15 mL) was hydrogenated (H2, 50 psi) for 3 days. The reaction mixture was filtered, and the resultant filtrate was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica eluting with a gradient system of solvents: ethyl acetate (100%) to ammonium hydroxide/methanol (30%) to provide the title compound (4.1 g, 73%) as a solid.
