A mixture of 0.62 g of the 2-ethyl thiazolidine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester thus obtained, 0.66 g of 3,5-dichlorophenyl isocyanate and 10 ml of toluene was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. Then, the precipitate was filtered to give 1.00 g (yield 77.8%) of 2-ethyl-3-(3,5-dichlorophenylcarbamoyl) thiazolidine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester with a melting point of 187°-188° C. The results of the elementary analysis were as follows: Found (calculated in parentheses): C 46.48% (46.29%), H b 4.35% (4.44%), N 7.50% (7.71%), Cl 19.86% (19.52%).
