Fire Fighting Procedures · 2건

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA Suitable: Water spray. Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, or appropriate foam.

Storage ConditionsKeep tightly closed
Cleanup Methods · 1건

Procedure to be followed in case of leak or spill: Evacuate area. Personal precautions: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots, and heavy rubber gloves. Methods for cleaning up: Sweep up, place in a bag and hold for waste disposal. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.

Disposal Methods · 2건

SRP: The most favorable course of action is to use an alternative chemical product with less inherent propensity for occupational exposure or environmental contamination. Recycle any unused portion of the material for its approved use or return it to the manufacturer or supplier. Ultimate disposal of the chemical must consider: the material's impact on air quality; potential migration in soil or water; effects on animal, aquatic, and plant life; and conformance with environmental and public health regulations.

Contact a licensed professional waste disposal service to dispose of this material. Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber. Observe all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Preventive Measures · 4건

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and eye/face protection. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).

Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Discard contaminated shoes. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Do not breathe dust. Do not get in eyes, on skin, on clothing. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure.

SRP: Local exhaust ventilation should be applied wherever there is an incidence of point source emissions or dispersion of regulated contaminants in the work area. Ventilation control of the contaminant as close to its point of generation is both the most economical and safest method to minimize personnel exposure to airborne contaminants.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) · 2건

Engineering Controls. Safety shower and eye bath. Use only in a chemical fume hood.

Personal Protective Equipment. Respiratory: Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU). Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face particle respirator type N100 (US) or type P3 (EN 143) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering controls. If the respirator is the sole means of protection, use a full-face supplied air respirator. Hand: Compatible chemical-resistant gloves. Eye: Chemical safety goggles.

Environmental Fate · 3건

TERRESTRIAL FATE: Based on a classification scheme(1), an estimated Koc value of 8(SRC), determined from a structure estimation method(2), indicates that 3-quinuclidinol is expected to have very high mobility in soil(SRC). Volatilization of 3-quinuclidinol from moist soil surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process(SRC) given an estimated Henry's Law constant of 8.1X10-10 atm-cu m/mole(SRC), using a fragment constant estimation method(3). 3-Quinuclidinol is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces(SRC) based upon an estimated vapor pressure of 3.3X10-4 mm Hg(SRC), determined from a fragment constant method(4). Biodegradation data for 3-quinuclidinol were not available(SRC, 2009).

AQUATIC FATE: Based on a classification scheme(1), an estimated Koc value of 8(SRC), determined from a structure estimation method(2), indicates that 3-quinuclidinol is not expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment(SRC). Volatilization from water surfaces is not expected(3) based upon an estimated Henry's Law constant of 8.1X10-10 atm-cu m/mole(SRC), developed using a fragment constant estimation method(4). According to a classification scheme(5), an estimated BCF of 3.2(SRC), from an estimated log Kow of 0.17(6) and a regression-derived equation(7), suggests the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is low(SRC). Biodegradation data for 3-quinuclidinol were not available(SRC, 2009).

ATMOSPHERIC FATE: According to a model of gas/particle partitioning of semivolatile organic compounds in the atmosphere(1), 3-quinuclidinol , which has an estimated vapor pressure of 3.3X10-4 mm Hg at 25 °C(SRC), determined from a fragment constant method(2), is expected to exist solely as a vapor in the ambient atmosphere. Vapor-phase 3-quinuclidinol is degraded in the atmosphere by reaction with photochemically-produced hydroxyl radicals(SRC); the half-life for this reaction in air is estimated to be 2.3 hours(SRC), calculated from its rate constant of 5.5X10-11 cu cm/molecule-sec at 25 °C(SRC) that was derived using a structure estimation method(3). 3-quinuclidinol does not contain chromophores that absorb at wavelengths >290 nm(4) and therefore is not susceptible to direct photolysis by sunlight(SRC).

Soil Adsorption/Mobility · 1건

Using a structure estimation method based on molecular connectivity indices(1), the Koc of 3-quinuclidinol can be estimated to be 8(SRC). According to a classification scheme(2), this estimated Koc value suggests that 3-quinuclidinol is expected to have very high mobility in soil.

Environmental Bioconcentration · 1건

An estimated BCF of 3.2 was calculated for 3-quinuclidinol(SRC), using an estimated log Kow of 0.17(1) and a regression-derived equation(2). According to a classification scheme(3), this BCF suggests the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is low(SRC).

Volatilization from Water/Soil · 1건

The Henry's Law constant for 3-quinuclidinol is estimated as 8.1X10-10 atm-cu m/mole at 25 °C(SRC) using a fragment constant estimation method(1). This Henry's Law constant indicates that 3-quinuclidinol is expected to be essentially nonvolatile from water surfaces(2). The Henry's Law constant of 3-quinuclidinol indicates that volatilization from moist soil surfaces will not occur(SRC). 3-Quinuclidinol is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces(SRC) based upon an estimated vapor pressure of 3.3X10-4 mm Hg at 25 °C(SRC), determined from a fragment constant method(3).

용도3-Quinuclidinol acts as a chiral building block for various antimuscarinic agents and other active pharmaceutical ingredients. It serves as a catalyst for condensation of methyl vinyl ketone with aldehydes. It is also used as a reagent for cleavage of beta-keto and vinylogous beta-keto esters. Further, it plays an important role as a synthon in the preparation of cholinergic receptor ligands and anesthetics. In addition to this, it is used in chemoselective alfa-iodination of acrylic esters through Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction.
