Out of 55 human fat samples taken in Punjab, India, o,p'-DDE was detected in 43 samples at a mean (range) concn of 3.57 (< detected limit to 14.4) mg/kg and p,p'-DDE were detected in 8 samples at a mean (range) concn of 1.54 (< detection limit to 31.6) mg/kg(3). DDE was detected in Belgian human tissue samples in adipose, liver, brain and lung at mean (range) concentrations of 484.3 (84-1782.1), 468.9 (100.4-1196.7), 116.9 (55.3-213.4) and 1041.8 (not detected-7807-3) ng/g lipid weight, respectively(4).
