용도Ferrozine sodium is a ferroin compound that forms a stable magenta-colored solution with the ferrous ion. The complex has an absorption peak at 562 nm and is used as a reagent and indicator for iron. Ferrozin is an organic ligand which is useful as a disposable optical sensor for heavy metal determination.
일반 설명Ferrozine sodium salt, also known as ferrozine, is an iron chelator. It is used for the removal of iron from physiological fluids and tissue samples in order to identify the presence of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Ferrozine binds to iron ions and forms ferrous complexes that are excreted through urine or bile. It has been shown that ferrozine inhibits lipid peroxidation in rat liver mitochondria. This may be due to its ability to react with hydrogen peroxide and form a complex with iron-hydrogen peroxide, which prevents the formation of hydroxyl radicals.
정의ChEBI: Ferrozine monosodium salt is an organic sodium salt that is the monosodium salt of 4,4'-[3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazine-5,6-diyl]dibenzenesulfonic acid. It has a role as an iron chelator. It contains a ferrozine(2-).
