개요Abrocitinib is an oral small molecule drug developed by Pfizer and approved in the UK and Japan in September 2021 for the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. Atopic dermatitis is a common inflammatory skin disease that usually appears in infancy or childhood and is associated with an abnormal response of the immune system.Abrocitinib's mechanism of action is through the inhibition of the activity of Janus kinase 1 (JAK1), an intracellular signalling molecule that is involved in signalling processes induced by a variety of cytokines. By inhibiting JAK1, it is possible to reduce the production of inflammatory cytokines, thereby reducing the symptoms of atopic dermatitis.
