N-{4-[2-(4-Aminophenyl)ethyl]-5-[4-(methylsulfonyl)benzyl]-1,3-thiazol-2-yl}acetamide (200 mg), methyl ethanimidothioate hydroiodide (202 mg) and MeOH (4 ml) were combined under N2 atmosphere. The reaction mixture was refluxed for 3 hours. After cooled to room temperature, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by preparative NH silica gel chromatography with CHCl3/MeOH (10:1) as an eluent. The amorphous substance was solidified with ethyl ether to give N-{4-{2-[4-(ethanimidoylamino)phenyl]ethyl}-5-[4-(methylsulfonyl)benzyl]-1,3-thiazol-2-yl}acetamide (102.4 mg) as a pale yellow amorphous solid.
