tert-Butyl {4-[5-(4-aminothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-6-yl)-4-phenyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl]butyl}carbamate (Example 173) (23 mg) was added to a mixture of TFA, water and triisopropyl silane (5:5:1) (5 ml) and stirred at ambient temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the residue purified by preparative RPHPLC (eluting with a gradient of MeCN and water containing 0.1% TFA) to give the title compound as a colourless solid (18 mg, 90%);
