A mixture of 8-(5-bromo-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-ylamino)naphthalen-2-ol (18 mg, 0.05 mmol, Example 14), phenylboronic acid (12 mg, 0.1 mmol, Aldrich), PdCl2(PPh3)2 (3.5 mg, 0.005 mmol, Aldrich), Na2CO3.H2O (12 mg, 0.1 mmol), dimethoxyethane (0.35 mL), H2O (0.15 mL) and EtOH (0.1 1 mL) was subjected to microwave irradiation at 120° C. with stirring for 10 min. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, diluted with water (5 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (2×10 mL). The combined organic phases were washed with brine (10 mL), dried over Na2SO4 and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was purified by preparative HPLC (gradient 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid in acetonitrile) to give the title compound. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 352 (M+1).
