Ethyl (2Z)-4-bromomethyl-3-methyl-2-methylimino-2,3-dihydro-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate (3.0 g) obtained in Example 13) as a synthetic intermediate and benzyl 4-aminopiperidine-1-carboxylate (3.3 g) were dissolved in DMF (50 mL). Potassium carbonate (3.8 g) was added thereto, and the mixture was mixed at 70° C. for 4 hours. The solvent was distilled off, and the residue was poured into water. The mixture was then extracted with a mixed solution of chloroform-methanol, and the extract was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent-was distilled off, and the residue was purified with a silica gel column to give the title compound (3.1 g) as pale yellow crystals.
