A suspension of 2,5-difluoro-6-(5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-ylamino)nicotinonitrile (Method 41, 0.20 g, 0.85 mmol), DIEA (0.14 g, 1.1 mmol), and (S)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)ethanamine (0.23 g, 1.7 mmol) in n-BuOH (2 ml) was heated to 130° C. for 18 hours. The reaction was then cooled to room temperature, diluted with water (20 ml), and extracted with DCM (2×50 ml). The combined organic fractions were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and then concentrated. The resulting oil was purified by column chromatography (DCM-MeOH=100:1) to give the title compound (0.27 g, 91%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD) δ 7.38-7.32 (m, 3H), 7.03-6.99 (m, 2H), 5.99 (br s, 1H), 5.15-5.14 (m, 1H), 2.24 (s, 3H), 1.53 (d, J=6.8 Hz, 3H). MS: Calcd.: 354. Found: [M+H]+ 355.
